Benefit cheat tagged and given curfew

A BENEFIT cheat has been electronically tagged after claiming cash she was not entitled to.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Laura Slater-Young, aged 59, of Mason Street, Horwich, admitted failing to inform the authorities that she was living with her husband, Darren Young, between July 2017 and November 2019.

She received thousands of pounds in housing benefit and employment and support allowance which she should not have had.

Slater-Young was sentenced to a 7pm to 7am curfew for 16 weeks and ordered to pay ?180 in costs and charges.
